"It's so hard"
"I don't know how I'm going to stay on this path"
"Ughh, I love God, but.."
Don't worry, no need to fear! TheRay is here to give you some hacks on staying saved!
'Staying' saved has to be the hard part in giving your life over to Christ.
It all boils down to saying 'No' to sin and continuing to say 'No' to it.
We often find sometimes, continuing to say 'No' is not as easy as it was the first time, but I got you, boo.
See below:
- Speak to yourself more than others. I know, it sounds crazy, but believe it or not, we tend to listen to ourselves more than we would to others. The words that we allow to float around our heads every day hold more power than someone else. Even if someone has spoken something over you or to you, their words won't hold until you confirm it with your words.
- Say No to Drugs. Yes, say no to drugs, literally, and to anything that can cause your flesh to be more gratified than your spirit. Whether that be your attention on something, relationship with something, the food you eat, what you like drinking, and so forth. Keep saying no to anything that you realized gives more pleasure to your flesh than your spirit.
- The Word: Believe it and Obey it. The Word is such a powerful tool for us to remain in the hand and will of God. This is the Word that Jesus used to overcome satan's temptations. When we believe the Word that we study and read, then obey it and apply it to our lives, we remain hidden under His wings. We become more aware of Him, more discerning and wise to what we should and shouldn't do.
- Fast. Yes, put down that plate or whatever it is you have become a glutton to. Whether it be you eating way more than you should, using your phone disgustingly a lot, seeking fleshly things, reading things you ought not to. Anything that you are digesting more than the Word of God, you need to fast from. Do your best to keep from overfilling yourself with these things. Try to balance your life.
- Stay from it. Orchestrate your life, so that what once distracted you or deterred you can no longer swing in your circle. Avoid going places and doing things that can trigger you to relapse.
- Fill your day. Yes, fill your day with things and actions that would lead you to God. Ask Him for directions on what He wants you to do today. Listen to music that inspires God to dwell with you. Read. Find time to spend with Him, even if it be for 5 minutes.
- Talk to Him. God doesn't have to only be present when you've already sinned for you to repent. Talk to Him when you feel the temptation coming. Talk to Him even when you don't want to. Talk anytime and every day to Him. Build a relationship with Him. Tell Him how you feel, what you think, what's going on.
Being saved is not as hard as we have made it out to be. It's just like building a relationship with a friend, boyfriend, or spouse.
If we want to keep that person in our life, then we will do just about anything to make sure that they are happy.
We will do our best to ensure that our relationship with them is strong and continue to be strong. We would remain faithful to them and ensure that they feel safe enough to trust us.
It's the same with God.
Build your relationship with Him.
Love Him.
Cherish Him.
Ensure that you are faithful to Him and that He can feel safe to call on you.
