Prayer for Children

Image
Dear Heavenly Father,  Your word says to let the little children come to You.  Today, we are praying for our children. From ages 0 and up.  We asked that You cover them under Your Mighty hand. Cover their young minds and make them strong to overcome temptations and trials that may come their way.  Cover their bodies from sickness and illness that tries to plague them.  Lord, we ask that You heal those children that are already battling infirmities right now.  Anoint them from the crown parts of their heads unto the soles of their feet.  Remove the pain and give them Your comfort. Protect them where ever they may go.  Whether it be the school grounds, their homes, their campus, friends' homes and other establishments, nurseries, etc.  Send your guardian angels to protect them from dangers seen and unseen.  Let your blood protect them from every harm, Jesus! We cancel every spirit of death right now from among our children.  Eve...

Discovering You ~Teen Edition

Image
Dear You,  Do you know what brings you peace? Do you know what makes you smile? What makes you feel at ease? What makes you happy? Content? Unique? What are your likes and dislikes? Who are you? The power of knowing oneself is greater than anything out there.  The deep connection, the fondness of knowing yourself as a whole is a feeling that can't be described as anything short of profound.  I assume this is why at your age, not knowing who you are is frustrating.  In the journey of finding who you are as an individual, you may stumble into what I call the Years of Uncertainty.  It's the years where media deems it as 'Rebellious Teen Years', but it is more than that.  It is the years when we are at the end of that structured life that our parents/guardians had made for us and on the brink of adulthood.  It's the years when we are trying to dissect who we are from being So and So's child and who we really are.  What we like and not what the ...

Prayer For Depression

Image
Heavenly Father,  You are God, you are bigger than all my problems.  You are bigger than all my worries.  There are times, most times when I don't feel good.  I don't feel happy and I don't feel encouraged.  But, I have read that you say to cast my cares on You for You do care.  You care about me because you open my eyes every day You care about me because you sent your Son for me.  You care about me because you provide so much for me, even though I sometimes don't see it So, when those feelings come, Lord.  Those feelings of being unworthy or not enough,  Help me to remember to exchange them with You.  Hate, anger, discouragement, whatever plagues me. I exchange them to You for Your Peace. Your peace that surpasses all understanding,  Able to guard my heart and mind through Christ Jesus.  Let Your Word echo in my heart.  Let me be reminded because where You are there is freedom.  That every negative thought an...

Finding The Motivation

Image
The other day I was on Twitter and stumbled on a tweet by a person who was asking "What to do when you can't find the motivation to go on?" I thought that it was a great question, especially during this time when everything seems so depressing.  Everything just feels "Not worth the effort". Our goals, our ambition, life, dreams.  I did a piece on this topic before it's called "Consistency, Consistency, Consistency", you can search the title in the search bar if you want to read.  I had paired the topic with 2 Corinthians 8:11.  "Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means." I elaborated on one starting their spiritual walk and not completing the work set out for them, but today, I want to talk about goals that may be on the other side of achieving your spiritual desires.  Goals such as your vision to start a business, further your education, perfecting you...

Back-To-School Tips!

Image
Photo by Deleece Cook on Unsplash   Ok, ok, I know what you're thinking.  Why are you giving out back-to-school tips, you're too old to even be in school.  First of all, ouch! Secondly, I love assisting the young children of the generation and letting them know that they are not forgotten or lost at any opportunity that I can get.  So for those who are returning to school, a new school, or college, this is for you! Disclaimer: I have been out of school for quite some time now *cough" but I would tell you the things that I did before going back on my first day.  Now, most of you are moving up to another level or grade and you might be moving to high school or to college. You may be seeing new faces or even still chilling with the same class you had since primary or elementary school. Let's face it, school isn't the ideal place a person wants to spend most of their time, but make an effort this year to make learning fun.  Here are the tips: Have school suppl...

A Word To The Young- "Take Your Time!"

Image
Often on Facebook or any social app, I would see this post:  As I continue to grow and mature in life, I found out that my answer changed according to what I was going through at that time.  The first time, I said that I would tell my younger self to save more. Spend your money more wisely and responsibly. Invest.  It was because when I got older, I realized just how expensive it was to keep myself alive, healthy, and looking good.  Side Note: I appreciate you, Mom, for holding it down. The other time, I told myself to appreciate my weight. Yes, I would have weighed only 140 pounds and was relatively skinny to my peers, but the weight was healthy and it was good for me.  The last couple of times that I saw the post, as you can see it reposts frequently, my advice was "Take Your Time". Would this change when I am a bit older? I don't know, but I know for a fact that it has been a constant reminder for me as I age.  Those of you who are reading this wh...

Fed Up- TheRant

Image
Thought Catalog on Unsplash Dear Society,  I have tried, have I not? I have tried to be the cool girl, the fun guy,  the person with no emotions, the one with all.  I have tried to center myself with friends and found out that you guys like loners so I tried that, too. I took music lessons and learned to play guitar, because you guys said that was "sweet" But, then I found out you like people who can sing,  and truthfully, I don't think I can do that.  I have tried to fix myself, my body, my mind to please you. Did it work? No. You prefer popularity and my 3 friends don't raise my likes the way they should. But, you know what, Society? I am actually tired of following through with your requirements. I am not an IG baddie! I don't have the body. My friends aren't a large quantity but they hold quality. I can't be the center of attention, because my depression kicks in and it's noticeable.  I find solace in my lonesome.  Only my 3 friends can und...
