God's Voice

Image
I was laying down the other night and God begin to pour some knowledge.  Of course, what I assumed would be an early night was automatically shifted to a night of wisdom impartation.  He said " My sheep know my voice"  I didn't understand why the statement. I felt like it was so random, but then I begin to ponder on it a bit.  Oftentimes, we battle with the concept of knowing the difference of who is speaking in our heads.  Is it God? Is it me? Is it the devil? Many times I was asked the question of how to know God's voice.  I heard before that there are always three voices in our heads.  Ours, God's, and then the devil's.  Ours is often layered with doubt and negativity. If we are asked to do a task like pray for someone or give to another, our voice would often reply with doubt if that was really the instruction.  Basically, we would find a way to talk ourselves out of the task or nudge to do something clearly perceived as good....

Peace- Do You Have These Fruits?

Image
Welcome back to our series on the Fruits of The Spirit!  Before we dive into our next fruit, I want to remind you of our 'Share Your Stories' section.  It's where you go to share your testimonies or stories that you would like to share with the world. You can email us and it will be posted here right on the blog to help inspire and give hope to others.    The Fruit this month is Peace! Peace known in Greek as Eirene (I-ray-nay) means to be harmonious with each other, at rest, quiet, content, and friendly.  Webster's dictionary explains it as being free from disturbance; tranquility.  When I began to write this post two scripture came to mind.  Isaiah 26:3  " You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in you" And,  Romans 12:18  "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone"  Peace is something that many of us desire in our lives.  I would even go ...

The Good One, The Right One, The One.

It's love week! Happy  Valentine's Day to all of you! Today, I decided to stick to the theme of this week and give you this piece I had written a time back concerning relationships.  Now, if you're a real family of TheRay, you would know that I did have a portion on my Instagram @theraydestinys_ dedicated to relationship quotes and advice, but had slowed down completely.  Okay, I stopped.  But, that's mainly because I don't consider myself a relationship guru or a marriage counselor and I don't want to persuade anyone to think that my words were textbook factual. Even with this post, I want to put a disclaimer out there that I am not a relationship guru or marriage counselor. Please take these words of advice as just advice. If it works for you, then fine, but if not, leave it be. Let's get to it! The Good One, The Right One, and The One. I am sure that every one of us has experienced either one of these in a relationship before.  As I go into defining ea...

Fellowshipping With God

Image
This post is about to be a little bit different than my other posts.  Normally, I would have a scripture and go from there, but today I just have a question.  Do you really fellowship with God? When I look at the meaning of fellowship, it means to come together in association to share one interest.  I also take fellowship as two or more people genuinely coming together to enjoy each other's company.  This a bit of a deep dive end question, because I know that many times we may read the Word of God and we praise and we worship, we even pray, but do we really fellowship with Him? You may still be a bit lost on where I am trying to get with this question, so let me give you an example. For a few days, I was reading the Word of God, praying, and going through my life, but when several days passed I realized that God and I's meetings were one-sided. What do I mean? I mean that I studied the Word of God, but I didn't meditate and I prayed but I didn't wait for a res...

Clean Out For A Clean House

Mark 5:40 "But they laughed. After He put them all out, He took the child's father and mother and the disciples who were with Him, and went in where the child was" To put into context the scripture for today, this is the story about Jesus healing a child.  The story said that the child was already pronounced dead and that Jesus was too late to heal the child in man's time. It states that when Jesus came to heal said child that there was a funeral already set in motion and on top of that the people made a mockery of His arrival.  Here it was something that was already dead and done, and now this man come out of nowhere stating that he can heal and deliver.  It was a joke to them.  In our lives, when we go through trials and so forth, this may be the reaction of many of those around us as well as even ourselves.  Already counting that whatever hope or dream is already dead and there is no coming back for it.  Forgetting that we serve a God that has no ...
