Dreaming Dreams? Part One.

Image
To dive into the world of dreams and their interpretations is a very deep dive.  Dreams are speculative and unpredictable. They can also be very unreliable and unrelatable. Dreams are often deeply analyzed in reality as some form of direction or prediction for the future in our lives. These predictions are neither true nor false. I've had numerous of dreams that I have seen come to pass as well as others that were just nothing, but that, a dream.  The Bible houses numerous stories about persons that have wandered into dreamland.  You have in 1 Samuel 28:15 with Saul summoning Samuel and Genesis 20:3 when God showed up to Abimelek in a dream. These were all examples of dreams being a source of communication. In Acts 2:17 , God describes it as a gift given by the Holy Spirit in the last days.  With King Nebuchadnezzar and Pharoah, they were warnings.  Dreams to me are what the Bible speaks them to be.  When you read stories about Joseph (Jesus' earthl...

Only God!

Image
Acts 4:12 "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved"  I've been in countless situations where when it comes to my rescue I either try to save myself or try to get another person to do it.  It took me a long time to figure out that in everything, only God will be able to bring me out.  I had looked to friends,  devices, family, my mother especially, and even to my husband when I find myself in a bind, but in the end, God showed me that it was only Him that I truly need. Now, the process of Him showing you this is a tough one to swallow.  Especially when your faith was as weak as mine was.  I didn't trust to depend on God too much when things get really real in my life.  I had this horrible mindset that the issue may be too big for God. That I needed to handle this myself.  So, when it came time to changing where I look for help, it was hard.  I know, we have a ...

A Cornerstone

Image
Psalm 118:22 "The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone"  Rejection is very, very hard to swallow. Many persons even avoid doing what they're instructed to do because they fear the rejection of the crowd. Avoid saying what God has told them to say because they're worried about the acceptance of it.  It's relatable.  There has been one time when I avoided something instructed by God because I fear how it would be accepted.  The results weren't too pretty. Let's just say that not doing what God has told us to do doesn't stop His word from fulfilling its purpose. It will still get done, but the guilt you feel when you know that it was supposed to be you doing what He said to do is second to none.  Today is not different from any other day. I am writing to encourage you to not be afraid of rejection because God says the reward is going to be greater than it.  Jeremiah was afraid because of his age, but God made him a mouthpiece and one o...

Prayer For A Balance Life

Image
Dear Heavenly Father,  There is no one like You.  You are Jehovah Jireh, my provider. I thank You for the life You have given me! I thank You for the blessings and the corrections. Thank you for directing me and the people you have placed in my life Please grant me wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.  Grant me discernment so that I might know how to manage the things You have blessed me with.  Teach me how to have balance!  When to know what is too much and what is too little.  Teach me how to walk on level grounds.  In Your Word, you say that it is a time and season for everything under the sun. Lord, help me to understand and discern the time for things in my life. To know work time, playtime, family time, prayer time, church time, and so forth. Teach me the way in which to live this life.  So that my scale won't tip over with unbalance. Lord, I trust in You today to direct me.  Please hear my cry.  In Jesus' name,  Amen....

Oh, What A Love

Image
Photo by Neal E. Johnson on Unsplash   Heavy on His Mind, He breathed into me.  Oh, What A Love. He Loved me from that moment, He created me fearfully and wonderfully. Oh, What A Love. I let Him down, I fell, much to His dismay Oh, What A Love He didn't let me go, He choose to find another way. Oh, What A Love! He sent His only son on a mission to keep me near Oh, What A Love He let Him take on everything He knew I couldn't hold, not even bear Oh, What A Love He tore the veil, He removed every and anything that separated us Oh, What A Love He took the lashes, the cuts, the thorned crown, for nothing more than dust Oh, What A Love How can I repay Him, His love stretches beyond infinity Oh, What A Love So deep that death doesn't stop it, because He has already taken its key. Oh, What A Love. Who do you know would trade His royalty for this lowly place? Oh, What A Love Switched out His heavenly home and highest honor, to be disgraced. Oh, What A Love! I found a man, a friend ...

Are you Mary or Martha?- Spiritually Active

Image
Luke 10: 41-42 "Martha, Martha," The Lord answered, "You are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed-or indeed only one thing. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her".  1 Thessalonians 5:6 "So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober"  I have learned the hard way that just because you may be a busybody, your spirit can still be lazy.  Let's look at the story of Mary and Martha. It speaks about Jesus visiting them and how Martha was busy fixing and fussing over the way the home should be so much that her spirit wasn't aware that Jesus was in the room.  I was the same and I know that many believers may find themselves once in this same spot as well. Constantly finding something to do in the church, thinking that it makes them a worker in the Kingdom of God.  I spent years on the usher board, praise team, dance team, and media. I tried my hand as a youth leader and...

Prayer of Repentance

Image
Heavenly Father,  the Creator of Heaven and Earth. Lord, I confess to You that I have sinned against You.  I have done what You have considered evil in Your sight. I have fallen short in my obedience to You.  I have strayed away from following Your commands,  But, I thank You for Your forever love and mercy.  I thank You for the chance to repent to You. Please forgive me, Lord.  Please purge me with hyssop so that I can be clean.  Wash me, so that I can be whiter than snow. Lord, please do not cast me away from Your presence.  Please do not take Your Holy Spirit away from me.  I confess with my mouth that I have sinned.  Please forgive me and restore to me the joy of Your salvation.  Provide Your strength to me so I won't fall back on what You are delivering me from.  May I stand on Your Word.  Purify my heart today, wash my hands until they are clean enough for You. I repent, Lord.  Thank You for hearing my pr...

It's (G)od not god!

Image
1 Chronicles 13:9-10 "When they came to the threshing floor of Kidon, Uzzah reached out to his hand to steady the ark, because the oxen stumbled. The Lord's anger burned against Uzzah, and he struck him down because he had put his hand on the ark. So he died there before God."  Are you one of those persons who when reading something and it mentions God or Jesus, but they don't capitalize the 'G' or 'J' you just want to correct them?  Raise your hand in the comment section and be like "Excuse me it's God/Jesus!"  It's important and sometimes, I do let people know that it's God and not god, but I realize that God doesn't need assistance in that area or any other area for that matter.  The scripture context was a scripture that I normally read and was confused on why God did that.  You know? Killed Uzzah.  He was only trying to help the ark from 'falling'. He was assisting the oxen, but God killed him.  Brutal, right? U...
