Consistency- Just Do It!

Image
In the process of remaking some of my posts, I came across Consistency, Consistency, Consistency .  By the way, you can go ahead and check out the original before reading this one. 😊  ( https://theraydestiny.blogspot.com/2020/09/consistency-consistency-consistency.html) In the old version, I mentioned that when people are often given dreams or try to achieve their goals, they are often top-heavy.  Meaning, sometimes we can be so focused on the end goal that we don't pay attention to the journey that we have to take to get there. We don't consider the steps. I concluded in the old post that consistency is remembering why when you start to grow weary, distracted, or discourage.  But, in this post, I want to add something that I had learned since starting my blog. Some days I experience this fatigue of not wanting to write. Not because I don't have anything to say to you guys, but because even when we are walking on our journey, discouragement doesn't just go aw...

Win Them Over

Image
1 Peter 2:12 " Live such good lives among pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day He visits us" Studying the other day and this verse stuck out to me because it's amazing how the scripture states "though they accuse you of doing wrong".  We know that the verse wasn't encouraging those people who were doing wrong, but those that were doing right. It all goes to show you that even back then when a person chose to stand alone and do what was right it can be obscure by the world as wrong.  You see that in our everyday life even in today's society that lifting up a standard is almost looked down on.  For instance, abstaining from sex until marriage, not drinking, not smoking, not partying, and doing anything for Christ at this age in time is considered 'boring'.  I remember in my young days that trying to be set aside and lift up the Word of God was 'doing too much'.  Even n...

Settling is NOT an Option.

Image
I had been talking with God about a situation when I heard "Don't Settle".  I automatically assumed that it was my relationship because normally when people say to don't settle, it means to not get comfortable with someone who is giving you the bare minimum.  However, that was not what my 'Don't Settle' meant.  It means to not settle in my journey with God, to not settle with my mental health, to not settle with my job, and to not settle with who I am.  Normally when I get a topic, I meditate on it for a few days because I believe that correction isn't brought for me to correct anyone else but myself first.  I'm very much of a practice-what-I-preach kind of person.  So, when I got the word I first took notice of what was actually going on in my life and I asked myself, "Am I happy with this, or am I tolerating it?"  I know some things that happen in our lives are not what we want or imagine, but are we sticking to it, or are we trying to...

A Cornerstone

Image
Psalm 118:22 "The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone"  Rejection is very, very hard to swallow. Many persons even avoid doing what they're instructed to do because they fear the rejection of the crowd. Avoid saying what God has told them to say because they're worried about the acceptance of it.  It's relatable.  There has been one time when I avoided something instructed by God because I fear how it would be accepted.  The results weren't too pretty. Let's just say that not doing what God has told us to do doesn't stop His word from fulfilling its purpose. It will still get done, but the guilt you feel when you know that it was supposed to be you doing what He said to do is second to none.  Today is not different from any other day. I am writing to encourage you to not be afraid of rejection because God says the reward is going to be greater than it.  Jeremiah was afraid because of his age, but God made him a mouthpiece and one o...

Prayer For A Balance Life

Image
Dear Heavenly Father,  There is no one like You.  You are Jehovah Jireh, my provider. I thank You for the life You have given me! I thank You for the blessings and the corrections. Thank you for directing me and the people you have placed in my life Please grant me wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.  Grant me discernment so that I might know how to manage the things You have blessed me with.  Teach me how to have balance!  When to know what is too much and what is too little.  Teach me how to walk on level grounds.  In Your Word, you say that it is a time and season for everything under the sun. Lord, help me to understand and discern the time for things in my life. To know work time, playtime, family time, prayer time, church time, and so forth. Teach me the way in which to live this life.  So that my scale won't tip over with unbalance. Lord, I trust in You today to direct me.  Please hear my cry.  In Jesus' name,  Amen....

Adoption

Image
John 1:12 "Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God"  It is not hard to be adopted into His lineage. The requirements aren't taxing. There aren't any red tapes you have to go through. There isn't a wait time. Or, a list.  The only requirement necessary is receiving and believing.  There is no blood sacrifice, there are no millions of dollars that need to be invested, there's no special social class you have to be in.  All you need to do is receive and believe in Him and you're in! Receive His love. His Word. His Grace. His Mercy. His Kindness. Believe in His Name. Have faith in His Word. His promises and belief in His resurrection.  I don't know about you, but I feel like we got the easy way out here.  We don't have to walk for miles to get to an altar anymore. We don't have to perform any kind of ritual. We don't have to have a title or be a part of anything with a hig...

Prayer to Remain Focus

Image
Father,  there is no one like You.  You are King of kings and Lord of lords.  I give You praise and glory! Your servant says to press towards the mark of the prize of the higher calling.  He stated that He will forget that which is behind him.  Lord, I ask the same! Help me to remain focused on the path that You have cleared for me! Lord, let me give careful thoughts to the path that is safe.  That I won't turn left or right but press on towards You.  Lord, please allow my flesh to die and the habit of listening to my own carnal mind to direct me.  In all my ways, help to not lean on my own understanding.  Yes, there may be distractions and other obstacles that will come to try and distract me But, Lord, I am asking for your strength to overcome such things. Help me to not easily be swayed and to continue to trust in You. Let me remain focused on You, Heavenly Father.  In Jesus' Name,  Amen.
