Thank You - Poem

Image
Photo by Kevin Butz on Unsplash   Thank you for keeping me. Thank you for keeping me. Sometimes that's all my prayer has It's few words but their meaning surpass It's multifaceted, and it means a lot I can list a few to help you build the plot. Thank You for keeping me safe.  Every night I lay and every morning I rise with no harm. I drive, walk, run and I'm covered by Your arm Thank You for keeping me sane. My mind wage war, but Your peace wage serenity I can't even explain sometimes how in chaos I have tranquility. Thank You for keeping me in love. When the world is full of selfishness and hate, Your love, I see no shortage. I'm wrapped and dipped in love to the point of overage. It's this love that stretches from east to west.  It's this love that reaches deep into my low valley or even high as an eagle's nest.  Thank You for keeping me supported. Not only with You showing up but connecting me with others People that pray and encourage me, those ...

I Have A Story- Interactive Poem

Image
Photo by Fredrik Öhlander on Unsplash   Gather around and I will tell you about a star I met It was peculiar because this star came to me instead It didn't look unique, but the way it shone was magnificent Illuminatinated so golden, it changed my future by its presence This star led me on a path away from the shoreline On a path that would redeem my time Build me up, laid me down I became a rock Too little faith, a missing ear and I messed up with my walk But every time I turn around this star kept shining Lighting the way, telling me I'm good enough, although my denying One day, I would preach about this Star to the His children and those who aren't I'll tell them about His love that stretches from arm to arm Some said I was loved roughly, but I feel like I was loved more than enough Because the moment He left us, I was more than ready, I was made tough So, listen to my story, I sit with this Star even when His rays were so bright Listen to my story, and I'll tell...

Who Am I?- Interactive Poem

Image
Sometimes I am without a name, but my name is known I'm the one whose reckless sin was confronted with stones I made soul ties with people that created knots My past condemns me, my future predestined to not have a spot Tired of the life I live, but how can I change. I wasn't sure how the man look, I just knew His name. I lacked nothing, but for everything I was broke. I walked into the house with tears in my eyes, and on a sob, I choked. Their eyes held judgment, they saw me for who I used to be How could I dare be here, so I got down on my knee Despite their stares, my eyes remain on His, so different from the rest His eyes held my future, redemption, salvation, my good, and my best Expensive to them, but not even worth it for Him, I still poured it out. His face morphed into love as I used my own locs to smear it about  For the first time, I felt seen not for who I was but for what I could become For the first time, I felt like using a part of my body has a beneficial ...

If I Speak

Image
Photo by Ilyass SEDDOUG on Unsplash   If I speak, It may be a bit too much. All this to just die? It seems out of touch If I speak, I'll say I am not a strong fighter. I was chosen for battle but wasn't there anyone mightier? If I speak, I'll say, I am failing. I'm soaring through the air, hands flailing, I'm wailing If I speak, I'll say I am not ready. I haven't been here long, not seasoned enough to be steady If I speak I'll say maybe choose someone else. My tongue is not eloquent enough, I am no help. But, something tells me what I say has already been heard That it's been spoken before and fell on deaf sand carried by the bird Analyzed and brushed off because someone else had already spoken His Word final, whispered over mine, forespoken Everything I would say I am not, He's already objected to it He said I was made the opposite of what I believe, don't neglect it. So, I may speak, but my word holds no ground, it can be erased Because wh...

The Testimony-Interactive Poem

Image
Hey!  I decided to add an interactive poem!   It is called Who Am I?  Basically, I would write some poems under this same title and you can drop in the comments who you think it is after reading.  Hope you enjoy it! :) Photo by Marcel Strauß on Unsplash The Testimony A story that shows that the word impossible is all a hoax I was born into the bosom of love and the Troas of loss My siblings were present, and my parents passed A trio of love, but how long will one last. Death met with me and only one of us agree But, I had one who adopted me into His family tree. He travels miles too late with only room to cry I was silenced by the kiss of expiry, in white, I lie. But just like the stone, the sting of death was rolled away Words spoken, commanded that I do not lay I'm the evidence that what once was dead can live again I'm proof that dead tissues and ceased organs can mend Wrapped in Buriel clothes I was reborn to the world Now I know my testimony, my stor...

May Love

Image
Photo by Element5 Digital on Unsplash   May Love be before me.  Let it walk into the room and shadow me.  Let it be my guide, my light. Let it illuminate my path from ever being consumed by the night May love be my strength, my power.  Let it be the resistance for when weakness tries to devour. May love be my teacher, my mentor, my guide  Let it show me how to speak, how to act, and form my thoughts inside May love be my eyes, my vision Let it not be clouded with judgment, but with emphatic precision. May love be my ears and my mouth Let it filter what comes in and what goes out. May love replace my anger, hate, and bitter Let it empty that space and it becomes my well-fitter May love be my first response, my routine reaction Let it be my profile, my biography, my attraction Because when love has its way, it's easier for me to represent Him.  Because when love has its way, it shines brighter and separates sin Then, Love, go ahead and have Your Way Anything...

He Rescued Me

Image
Photo by Timothy Eberly on Unsplash   I thought I didn't need saving.  I was moving fast, everything was happening at such a speed. Nothing was delaying. I thought I had it all figured out, A victim of what the enemy was portraying The devil made me feel like I didn't need anything or anyone. I was bad on my own, I was slaying The devil took me so far out to sea, no lifeline to phone home. I thought the waves were my friends, my supporters, my own. I thought I was going to make it to the top with my bags Carry every strife, and jealousy and count the rebukes as just lags But, I'm glad He never turned His back on me God held His hand hovering by my side, while He let me be. Gently guiding me until one day I'll be completely free He's a superhero, super in the very best of the word He not only saved me but the entire world. He's a savior, He rescues not only my body but my mind  He's a hero that comes right in time! ~J&M Remedies

Christ Is Born

Image
Photo by Dan Kiefer on Unsplash   With Love, You were sent.  Delivery so significant that it made a star shine iridescent Every creature breathed a sigh of relief, some in wonder All of us sensing that a savior has come from yonder We brought three gifts, but they weren't enough We had no room, where you came was tough But, out of nothing, You made something Until this very day the wonders of You, we still sing Bless you, Mother, and thank you for your 'Yes'.  Bless you, Father, and thank you for passing the test. Now today we have the deliverer, one that came to us in the flesh Today we have a healer and a friend that could care less about our mess.  Today, Christ Is Born. our King, His Majesty, the Lord and Saviour Praise be to God, to our Prince of Peace, and the Lamb that reigns forever. ~J&M Remedies

Thanks Be To You

Image
Photo by Wilhelm Gunkel on Unsplash  Thanks be to You, I no longer crave the feeling of love.  Thanks be to You, I'm wrapped up in unconditional outpourings from above.  Thanks be to You, I no longer know what it is to long for anything.  Thanks be to You, I have a shepherd that makes sure I lack nothing.  Thanks be to You, I am no longer bound and chained.  Thanks be to You, I am paid for, there is no price tag to my name.  Thanks be to You, I am no longer lost Thanks be to You, I have a way paved, light up with the cross.  Thanks be to You, I am no longer an orphan Thanks be to You, through Your blood I am lineage, no papers for adoption.  I am everything and all that You want me to be.  I'm made whole because You fell in love with someone like me.  I have no words to express my gratitude, that's impossible.  But, I'll say thank You for who You ...

Make The Decision

Image
Photo by Florian Schmetz on Unsplash We've been through this road before These imprints, these signs are engraved into our minds. We've seen these doors We contemplate them over and over in time Yet, we still need more More time to choose, more options, more escape routes But, we instead run from the decision We know where we come from, we know our roots The past is clear, but blurry in vision. Do we choose to be happy? Do we settle on this self-wallowing level? Do we choose to say no? Or say yes? Do we live for God, or walk along with the devil? Do we just do what we can or strive for the best? Our life is built on decisions that we make every day. Whether we choose to make a choice or choose not to make a choice. We must decide. ~J&M Remedies

His Greatness

Image
Photo by 卡晨 on Unsplash  I've heard about His Greatness, Not to brag but it surpasses our understanding.  I've heard that it has no boundaries. And, its depth of love is outstanding. I've heard that it has time on it.  Ancient and rare, intertwine into something beautiful I've heard that it can wrap you over and over again. Its steps are honorable and dutiful.  I've heard that it's blind to failure. Matter of fact, its phobia allows it never to indulge in it. I've heard that it's more than what our eyes can see We've only heard stories and even then we can't fathom it. I've heard that even when we have stopped, it keeps reaching. It keeps growing, evolving, and changing, but never becoming less So powerful, its glory is blinding, you would be wise.  Wise enough to choose its splendor to invest.  I've heard about His greatness From lips past, present, and even on the tongue that are to come. They'll brag about His goodness, a thousand...

If The Walls Can Talk

Image
Photo by Nick Fewings on Unsplash  If these walls can talk it would say that it was their umpteenth time here again.  On their knees, tears flowed from their eyes trying to call out to whoever was their friend.  It would say how they paced the floors and mumble things unable to understand.  It would say how they watch them unfold and fold, barely able to stand.   If these walls can talk, it would say how they see them turned dark.  Watching beyond the sheetrock as they slice leaving redlines as their mark It would say that they saw them cursed, it saw them call down everything they can think of It would say how they were silent and a shell of themselves, absolutely nothing left. No love. If these walls can talk, it would tell them that they had tried everything but the One He sits high and looks down low, His blinks control the sun.  It would tell them that if they try His system then it won't hurt as much It would tell them that He would love them be...

Be Glorified!

Image
Photo by Edward Cisneros on Unsplash Your splendor is infinite, So, is Your Grace Your heart seeks me And I seek Your face Omnipresent, from You I can not hide Whether hell below or on earth, in Your vision I abide Of Your goodness, I've tasted and see In Your presence, I do long to be How can I thank You enough? What can I say? How can I lift You up higher? How much should I praise? The mountains are not high enough to measure Your greatness above The valley is not deep enough to contain all of Your love If I exalt You, I can go on and on for infinity It will exhaust my carnal body, and leave no breath within me. You are to be glorified, lifted, praised, anything for You, my King. I will give my all, everything I have, and my offering. Once You be glorified, Lord, that is my prayer And, I'll do that whether we are far from one another or near.   ~J&M Remedies
