Hi, and welcome to the 'Getting to know God' hotline!

When you've taken interest in someone, the first thing you do is study them.
You want to know what they like, what they don't like. What's their interest, what's their favorites, what makes them, them.
Now, with God, to know Him fully is impossible, but He isn't stingy in allowing you to see a few glimpses of who He truly is.
In my studies, I wrote down some things that I would think are helpful for us on the "GTKG" Hotline.
Found in Proverbs 6:16-19, here's a list of things that God Hates:
-A Proud look- which is pride.
-A lying tongue.
-A murderer.
-A heart that devises wicked imagination- Someone who indulges in the thoughts of wickedness and evil.
-Feet that run to mischief- A person that finds themselves attracted to trouble
-A false witness- A person who compromises.
-A discord sower- A person who brings confusion and chaos.
These are the things that we should avoid when building our relationship with God.
In my studies, I find that although God can hate some things, His love overcomes a lot.
Below are some of the things our God loves:
-A cheerful giver. A person that doesn't give with selfish motives or to is seen.
2 Corinthians 9:7
-He loves the world and everyone in it, regardless of our faults.
John 3:16
-Persons that follow His commands and cling to His word.
Deuteronomy 7:9
-A broken and contrite heart. Regardless, of how to love you may feel His love reaches to you.
Psalm 51:17
-A person who pursues righteousness. Who actively tries to do right.
Proverbs 15:9
-Sinners and those who have not yet come to in.
1 John 4:10/ Romans 5:8
-Justice. A person that is fair.
Psalm 11:7. Psalm 37:28
See from the lists above what you need to work on when it comes to building your relationship with Him. See the basics of who God is.
Read the scriptures, they explain whom we serve and who He is for the carnal mind to consume.
Reading the Word of God has given me insight into who He is. I have not resolved entirely, but I have seen and witnessed just enough to know that who I am serving.
I served and worship is a loving, forgiving, kind, merciful, faithful, responsive, and just God.
I hope this helps you in your journey on Getting to Know Him. Then, you too would be grounded in Him.
