A Mother in Waiting

First, I would like to wish each and every mother who is reading this today,

Mother's Day TheRayDestiny Inspirational Quotes Motivational

You are so important, so appreciated, and so needed.

Without you, there is no us!

I normally have a post for special occasions like this to celebrate these lovely gems in our lives. The posts normally consist of mothers and when this one that I have is still a mother, her title didn't come to her until very late in her life.

This post is going to be a very particular one.

I want to speak to a specific set of mothers out there today.

The one's in waiting.

When I was asking God about who I should speak on, Sarai/Sarah was the mother who dropped in my spirit.

It was odd because although Sarah was the mother of all nations, out of all the mothers in the Bible, her story or role as a mother was very short.

Basically, we hear about her being prophesied to be a mother and then waiting this long period and then bringing forth a son.

There is not much substance into the matter, you know, but as I continued to think about it more, I start to grasp how much other women can relate to her.

I can't imagine the amount of time Sarah prayed, fasted, hoped, and even begged God for a child.

An offspring.

I can't imagine how she felt seeing all the other wives bring heirs to their husbands when all she felt was her age continuing to increase and the window of having a child beginning to close.

I can imagine her hope slowly dying as she finally realizes that this is her lot.

This is what she was given.

Barrenness.

But, this was only her carnal conclusion.

Her assumption wasn't God's plan for her life.

It wasn't even close.

The Bible says in Genesis 6, that when the Angel of the Lord visits Abraham and Sarah, He told them that He was going to bless her with a child.

It was Sarah's response that made me believe she had already given up on the idea.

She laughed.

A scoff to whatever the angel had said as though it was absurd.

See, Sarah hadn't only lost hope, but it was physically impossible to even bear a child.

Yet, the Lord was telling her "Wait and See"

When I speak about Sarah and her waiting process, I speak to a group of women who can easily be overlooked during this time.

Women who are like Hannah, that watched on the outside the blessings of Peninnah.

Or, Rachel who watched from the sidelines as her sister be fruitful.

And, I know there is so much to say about these women, but there are only truths I would speak today because I want to recognize you.

God wants to shine the spotlight on you, a rare group of ladies.

These women are constantly categorized as jealous and envious. Or looked at as incapable and even worthless, but I want to let you know that today is the last day, you would recognize yourself or allow someone else to identify you as such.

Yes, some of you have been waiting for so many years. Yes, some of you have gotten so close and some of you have even achieved but then lost. But, I am naive to believe that it is not over for you.

You, Mother's in Waiting.

Regardless of the odds set against you or the facts that are laid out, I believe that your miracle is still on the way. Even when you lose that faith, I will stand in the gap believing.

Remember Sarah was in old age, past the age of childbearing. Not only was she past that age, but also her husband.

But, to prove just how He can work something out of absolutely nothing, even after Sarah was told she would have a child, God waited even more years.

He added more years upon the years that made her not eligible to have a child, just to prove that He can do the impossible.

That He CAN, when the world is saying can't.

I want you Moms-In-Waiting to know that your waiting time is almost to completion.

"Well, my doctor said it impossible for me to carry a baby full term?"

What did God say on the matter?

"But, I just lost another baby"

Do you serve a God that can still do miracles?

"I'm tired of trying"

But, God isn't tired of blessing you.

I know these statements may not comfort you the way I intend to. Some of them you have heard for so long and nothing has happened, but this is why I bring the story of Sarah to you.

She too waited very long.

She too heard words that were so absurd that she laughed because she didn't believe them.

She too heard a prophecy and it didn't happen right away.

But, she also witness what she had hoped for come through.

She also witness that God can do things when it seems as though nothing can be done in that situation.

She also witness that God will do what He said He would do.

Some of you are going to celebrate this day with the others next year, I was told to decree and declare that.

You're going to testify to what God can do right underneath this post.

You're going to witness a Sarah or even a Hannah moment.

Where you've felt like you've been waiting for so long, but when your blessing comes it's going to be suddenly.

You're going to remember this post and see that God is listening to you, now and even then.

So, I wish this Happy Mother's Day to you.

I wish you it in advance!
