Who Am I?- Interactive Poem
Sometimes I am without a name, but my name is known
I'm the one whose reckless sin was confronted with stones
I made soul ties with people that created knots
My past condemns me, my future predestined to not have a spot
Tired of the life I live, but how can I change.
I wasn't sure how the man look, I just knew His name.
I lacked nothing, but for everything I was broke.
I walked into the house with tears in my eyes, and on a sob, I choked.
Their eyes held judgment, they saw me for who I used to be
How could I dare be here, so I got down on my knee
Despite their stares, my eyes remain on His, so different from the rest
His eyes held my future, redemption, salvation, my good, and my best
Expensive to them, but not even worth it for Him, I still poured it out.
His face morphed into love as I used my own locs to smear it about
For the first time, I felt seen not for who I was but for what I could become
For the first time, I felt like using a part of my body has a beneficial outcome
May my story be told for generations to different nations that salvation is for anyone
May my story be shared, may it be told to women like me
That His love reaches beyond the scars caused by others
He cares beyond what they can see.
