On The Cross

Crucifixion Easter Holy Blood TheRayDestiny Jesus Quotes

Today's inspirational outtake would be from Isaiah 53. You can read that on your own and any kind of version is best for you.

It is the time and season where, we the people of God, recognize the crucifixion, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. It is a time of great reflection and memorial in the body of Christ.

Approaching this time, I realize that this chapter (Isaiah 53) keeps coming back to me.

This scripture is quoted a lot during Holy communion and the power of it never goes over my head.

This chapter grounds me and centers me. It along with the new gospels' interpretations of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ brings into prospect just how deep the love of God for us is and how serious why what was done had to be done.

A person thinking about us thousands of years ago, bearing it all so we won't have to is beyond any kind of love I can even phantom or ever experience in any lifetime.

The beating, the mockery, the chastisement, the insults, the amount of blood given and He accepted it all so that I can have another chance.

He has literally put His life on the line for me.

God has been and still has been so gracious and loving to us.

From the fall of Adam, He still made a way for us. He didn't give up but saw it fit to make amends. (Romans 5: 12-21)

His only begotten son, He sent Him instead.

And, He didn't send Him stronger than mankind or better, but He sent Him meek and lowly.

Born just like us.

Tried just like us.

He bled just like us!

I know it could not have been easy when He begin to do His father's business.  The assignment He was sent here for.

But, through it all, He was thinking of us.

He thought of the way He was paving for us.

He was thinking of the strength He would give us when He was going through His persecution and betrayal.

He was thinking of never abandoning us when He went His disciples ran away.

He was thinking of His forgiveness for us when He went through the mockery and insults.

He was thinking of the protection He would give us when His blood begin to be shed.

He was thinking of the strength He would give us when He was carrying His cross.

He was thinking of the power He would give us when He was nailed.

He was thinking of the His position next to God interceding on our behalf when He was hoisted into the air.

He was thinking about our salvation when He was buried.

He was thinking about us when He rose again.

Thank You, Lord, for the sacrifice!

Thank You, Lord, for Your Love!

Thank You for always interceding on our behalf! Always putting in a good word for us!

Thank You for sending Your Holy Spirit to light the way for us.

To teach us and guide us. Protect us!

In this season (and at all times), let us reflect on all of the selfless things Jesus has done for us then and even now. Think about where we would've been if He didn't do what He did.

If Mercy had said yes to our demise.

Lord, I thank You for Your Blood!
