A Mother's Work
Mother's Day!
A special day that we all say a great big 'Thank you" to all of the mothers out there.
Thank you to every mother and every kind of mother.
Your work can sometimes go unnoticed, but it should never go unpraised.
Last year for Mother's Day, I did A Mother's Call (check that out!) and in that post, I focused on Samson's mother. This year I would like to set my inspiration on the mother of all, Mary, the mother of Jesus.
This is a mother who was known to care for, protect, love, and catered to who we know as Jesus, Our Lord, and Saviour.
Her job was not an easy one.
Just like many of you mothers today, the job has not been easy for you. There isn't a rule book on how you should do it.
There are so many things you have to juggle, many things to pay attention to, many things you may understand, and many things you just won't get, but like Mary, I encourage you today to lean on God for the direction.
Trust in God, when you don't know when the 'next' is coming. Believe in Him for the future of your child/children. Rest knowing that you have placed it into His hand.
Yes, there isn't a printed rule book for this, but ask God for His guidance to help you. Ask Him to teach you what you should deal with and what you should leave in His hands.
Mary went through the disgrace and odd looks during pregnancy. She gave birth in not the most ideal place for a child. She cared for a baby and loved him regardless of what she had and what she didn't. She lost him at one point and experience the gripping fear. She made mistakes but learned from them.
She knew when to hold on tight and when to let go. She understood that her wants were nothing compared to what God needed from her child.
Mothers today, I admire your courage, hard work, dedication, and ability to move beyond your physical strength.
Your love, loyalty, kindness, wisdom, and patience are remarkable.
Don't underestimate yourself and what you have done!
You have done so much and even more than what your child/children and home can ask for.
You deserve every GOOD thing!
To you, expecting mothers.
To you, mothers that have lost.
To you, surrogate mothers.
To you, mothers of babies to adults.
To you, spiritual mothers.
To you, mothers in waiting.
We love you and appreciate you!
Happy Mother's Day!
