Who Supports You?

 

Most of my topics come to me whiles cleaning, in conversation with my husband, or in the middle of the night. 

This one happens to come to me while showering and it was more so of a question. 

"Will you allow the supporting actors in your dream cause you to not fulfill it?" 

In today's society, there are so many people who have side hustles and who have become entrepreneurs now. There are people who have begun their ministries and have put their first step into what God has promised them. 

I applaud you all who have done this. Who has finally done what is needed to be done to achieve your goal. 

Yet, in the midst of this season of go-getters and breakthroughs, I often hear the complaints of not being supported. 

"They don't share my work"

"They don't like or heart it" 

"They aren't investing" 

Will this allow you to not progress in your journey to your dream?

Your dream should not be dependent on that kind of support system. You should not seek to have their aid in your journey. 

Yes, I am aware that support is important. 

Supporting actors helps the movie or show. If the supporting actors aren't good, then the movie or show's success rate is very very low. 

Ecclesiastes 4:10 

"If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up"

What I am trying to show you is the important distinction of who you should have in your support team.

Proverbs 12:26

The righteous choose their friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them astray. 

Can I tell you today, that when you begin to actively reach for your dreams God sends the right people to assist you?

That, when you receive the blessings promised to you and you begin to trot on that road that leads to your goals He sends the right friends and support system that can bring you to what you need to achieve. 

The idea of what the door looks like in our minds needs to be removed and when I say door, I mean who we think our support system should look like. 

It isn't going to be the best friend that has been with us for years.  It's not going to be family members who we thought were close with us. 

It's going to be doors that we are unfamiliar with that are going to help us propel to another level. It's going to be with people who we do not know that's going to whisper our names into the rooms that we need to be in. 

The doors and the people who valet them are going to be people appointed by God for the sole purpose of helping you elevate. 

This is why I ask that you please get the stereotypical look of the door out of your mind. 

I'm reminded of the story when  Jeremiah was thrown into a citadel to die, and Ebed-Melek who was a Cushite, someone who wasn't close nor was Jeremiah's friend or family was the one that not only stood up for him, but rescued  him. (Jeremiah 39) 

Stop searching for the supporting actors that you already know and wait for the ones who God has assigned to you to come into place. 

Matter of fact, stop entirely focusing on the cheer of the crowd and continue the race!

Regardless if they are there or not, keep your eyes on the prize!

Imagine how hopelessly lost we would have been if the only way Jesus would have fulfilled His assignment was on the dependency of His disciples in those last final times.  

The scripture said at the moment where Judas kissed Jesus, chaos broke out and His disciple disperse. 

The people who were with Him for years, leaving Him. 

The kiss was the ball drop of the beginning climax of the assignment that He was sent here to do. It was the pinnacle of His dream and it would have marked His mission successful. 

Imagine, if He would have stopped right there and complained that He couldn't go anymore because Peter had denied Him or that Thomas and the others have ran away. 

But, thank the Lord, it was never about their opinions or support when it came to the assignment. He did what He needed to do, regardless of Him doing it alone. 

There's a quote that I say: 

Again, I ask you "Will you allow the supporting actors in your dream to cause you to not fulfill it?"

Remember God has already paved the way for you and has persons in place to help you, the right persons too.
