Don't Forget

Inspirational Motivational Godly TheRayDestiny Quotes

I was speaking with one of my friends the other day and they said something along the lines of not forgetting the reason.

I remember writing a post 'Remembering The Why' when you get to a place where you no longer feel motivated. It's a really good read, check it out. You can actually pause this and look at that right quick.

However, even after our talk, the words, "Don't forget" kept chanting in my mind.

I asked God what He wanted me to say on this because honestly, I felt as though I had already covered this topic in the post above, but then I was sent to His Word.

1 Timothy 1:18 (NIV)
"Timothy, my son, I am giving you this command in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that recalling them you may fight the battle well".

Now, before I go forward, I want to state who is the writer and who is being spoken to.

Paul is the writer and he is the one speaking to Timothy, who would be his spiritual son. Paul is currently in prison during this message and he is sending Timothy out to do the work of God.

The part that I want us to zoom in on is the last part of that verse.

"So that recalling them you may fight the battle well"

Recalling is to remember; be reminded or reminisce on something that has happened in the past.

It blew my mind to pieces when I read this because it was so timely and such a God-thing to do when you ask Him something.

It all comes back to the topic, "Don't forget"

Paul was here telling Timothy to not forget about what was spoken and declared over his life.

To not forget that he was called for this job and that God was with him in this fight.

To not forget the promises and God's Word that he would need to continue on in this journey.

So, in all of this, God is not only telling me to not forget, but He is also telling YOU to not forget either.

He is telling us to recall the Words and the Promises spoken over our lives so that we may fight the battle well.

He has noticed that we have been fumbling and lost.

He has noticed that life has been making us scramble and confused.

We don't know which way to turn, we have lost our confidence.

We are always unsure of what we deserve and who we are.

So, He has reminded me, so that I can, in turn, remind you to Don't forget!

Don't forget that you are a child of a king and that your life has already been predestined for greatness.

Do not forget that you were created and appointed for such a time as this!

Do not forget the prophetic words that have been spoken over your life!

"Well, I haven't had any prophetic words spoken over me"

Wrong!

God's Word is the prophetic word spoken over each and every one of our lives.

1 Peter 2:9
"But you are chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, to proclaim the virtues of Him who have called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.

1 Peter 1:2
"You were chosen by God the Father long ago. He knew you were to become His children. You were set apart for holy living by the Holy Spirit. May you obey Jesus Christ and be clean by His blood. May you be full of His loving favor and grace.

Mark 16:15
"And He said unto them, "Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation".

John 13:34
" A new command I give to you, "Love one another: As I have loved you, love one another"

From Genesis to Revelation there are prophetic words released over our lives. I have just listed a few of them above to get you started.

Let us not forget these commands, these instructions, these teachings, these promises.

Because like Paul warned Timothy, they will be needed in the fight.

They will be needed when the pressure gets unbearable. When the heat goes up. When it feels like we can't go any further.

Let's recall them so that we may fight the battle well.

Let's recall when our minds are troubled that God provides peace to those whose trust is in Him. Isaiah 26:3

Let's recall that when we are battling sickness in our bodies God is a healer. Psalm 41:3

Let's recall that when we are going through in our marriages or relationships God is a comforter. Psalm 34:18

Let's recall that when we are scared, God is always with us. Isaiah 41:10

Let's recall that when we are faced with harm God will protect us. Psalm 20:1

Let's recall that when you feel heartbroken and unworthy that God loves and He cares for you. John 3:16

Let's recall that when we are weak, God will give us strength. Isaiah 40:29

In the next fight, in the next hardship, let's remember.

Let's not forget!
