Loved First

God Love First Inspirational Motivational TheRayDestiny Quotes

 Mark 10:21
"Jesus looked at him and loved him. "One thing you lack," Jesus said, "Go sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come follow me"

Normally, when we read this scripture we focus on the part that Jesus said to the rich man.

We focus on Him telling the rich man to sell his stuff and to give to the poor.

I think what Jesus said is important to focus on, however, I want us to recognize something that He did before He even begin speaking.

The scripture said that Jesus looked at him and loved him.

Loved him.

Jesus acted first before He spoke.

His action was demonstrating His love.

Jesus loved him before He told him what he needed to do to enter into eternal paradise.

He loved him knowing that the rich man won't do what He recommended.

This story is a more intuned or narrow version of God loving us from even in the womb. This scripture shows us the moment of how God's initial reaction to us is always love at first.

He loves us before we get it all together.

He loves us before we stumble.

He loves us before we get saved.

He loves us first before anything that we do or think. It is His reaction to us, His children.

John 3:16 is a tell-all of how God loved first before anything else.

He sent His only begotten son before any of us can even be born.

What am I trying to say to you in this post?

I am trying to remind you that God loves you first.

Jesus was quite aware that the rich man wasn't going to listen to His suggestion.

He was quite aware that the rich man won't follow Him, but that didn't make His response to him any different.

God is aware that we are going to sometimes fall.

He's aware that we are sinful and can be doubtful at times.

He's aware that we're going to take a few tries before we finally get it right.

He's aware of our missteps and our mistakes. He's accurately aware of every single thing in our past, present and future.

And, although what we do may differ from time, God's response to us will never change.

It will always be love.

It will always be patient.

It will always be kindness.

So, today, I am reminding you to not let anything cloud your judgment of who you are to God.

Don't let it decrease your hope in Him loving you.

The rich man didn't even come to Christ yet, or even at all and God loved him.

He is the same with you.

He is the same with me.

He loves first.
