Fellowshipping With God

Serving God Lifestyle Inspirational God TheRayDestiny Quotes

This post is about to be a little bit different than my other posts.

Normally, I would have a scripture and go from there, but today I just have a question.

Do you really fellowship with God?

When I look at the meaning of fellowship, it means to come together in association to share one interest.

I also take fellowship as two or more people genuinely coming together to enjoy each other's company.

This a bit of a deep dive end question, because I know that many times we may read the Word of God and we praise and we worship, we even pray, but do we really fellowship with Him?

You may still be a bit lost on where I am trying to get with this question, so let me give you an example.

For a few days, I was reading the Word of God, praying, and going through my life, but when several days passed I realized that God and I's meetings were one-sided.

What do I mean?

I mean that I studied the Word of God, but I didn't meditate and I prayed but I didn't wait for a response.

I was going through the motions.

I was grateful that I caught on to what I was doing, but I wanted to see if others were experiencing something like this too.

You know?

Doing all the acts of being saved, but not really communing with God.

Fellowship is to share one interest; to associate with one another.

I couldn't be just going and doing all of these things just to say I have or because they are routine and forget to actually converse and check in with the person I am doing it for.

For those days,  I wasn't in tune with the relationship that I have with God.

If I had to make a physical example, I would say that it was like a mother and child or husband and wife.

As the mother or wife, I was doing my duties like cleaning the house, picking up the child, cooking for my husband, and so forth, but when it came to checking in on how my child or husband was doing mentally or emotionally I didn't know.

Do you know that you could live with a person and not know them?

You can know their outer works, but you won't know who they truly are unless you pay attention to and commune with them.

And this is what I want to get to. This is what I want us to get when it comes to serving God.

That we are aware of and pay attention to who He is and to know Him.

That we won't just do all the acts, but we remember to commune with Him.

Listen for His response.

Sometimes our prayer time doesn't need us talking, but just to show Him that we are here.

To tell Him we love Him.

To worship Him and show Him that we are listening and obeying.

Today, let's take a conscious evaluation and see if we are going through the motions too.

Ask God to wake you up!
