Not The Image, The Heart

Image
1 Samuel 16:7 But the  Lord  said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The  Lord  does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance,  but the  Lord  looks at the heart.”   There has been a huge misinterpretation of the body of Christ.  I know I may have spoken about this before, or possibly touch on this but I am going to reiterate it once again.  There is a huge problem when it comes to the image of the body of Christ.  The tradition of having the image of someone who loves and does not judge, or being filled with the Holy Spirit. Even the image of being kind to others is just that, an image.  We, as the body of Christ, are becoming too desirous of the image of being perfect than our hearts being perfect.  We portray kindness once there are eyes on us, we don't judge when it is convenient for us and we love in a small amount of doses, but this i...

I Have A Story- Interactive Poem

Photo by Fredrik Öhlander on Unsplash   Gather around and I will tell you about a star I met It was peculiar because this star came to me instead It didn't look unique, but the way it shone was magnificent Illuminatinated so golden, it changed my future by its presence This star led me on a path away from the shoreline On a path that would redeem my time Build me up, laid me down I became a rock Too little faith, a missing ear and I messed up with my walk But every time I turn around this star kept shining Lighting the way, telling me I'm good enough, although my denying One day, I would preach about this Star to the His children and those who aren't I'll tell them about His love that stretches from arm to arm Some said I was loved roughly, but I feel like I was loved more than enough Because the moment He left us, I was more than ready, I was made tough So, listen to my story, I sit with this Star even when His rays were so bright Listen to my story, and I'll tell...

Do You Have These Fruits?- Goodness.

Image
Yes, you are reading right!  There's another fruit dropping this month and we are about to grab this too! I realized that I missed a month, so I would use this to catch up so that we can be on the right track. Today, we're talking about Goodness.  When I began to meditate on this message, I assume that it would be just the same as Kindness (Gentleness), but I realized that Goodness was different in so many ways.  When Kindness came with having compassion and adapting that into your nature, Goodness is the decision to do what is right . The definition states: *Goodness is the quality of being morally good or virtuous. Now, right there, there's not much to go off, so I had to dig deeper and God let the words 'morally' and 'virtuous' stick out.  So, in TheRay's fashion, I searched for the definition of those words also.  Moral (Morally): Concern with the principles of right and wrong behavior. Virtuous: Having or showing high moral standards . Romans 12:2...

Consistency- Just Do It!

Image
In the process of remaking some of my posts, I came across Consistency, Consistency, Consistency .  By the way, you can go ahead and check out the original before reading this one. 😊  ( https://theraydestiny.blogspot.com/2020/09/consistency-consistency-consistency.html) In the old version, I mentioned that when people are often given dreams or try to achieve their goals, they are often top-heavy.  Meaning, sometimes we can be so focused on the end goal that we don't pay attention to the journey that we have to take to get there. We don't consider the steps. I concluded in the old post that consistency is remembering why when you start to grow weary, distracted, or discourage.  But, in this post, I want to add something that I had learned since starting my blog. Some days I experience this fatigue of not wanting to write. Not because I don't have anything to say to you guys, but because even when we are walking on our journey, discouragement doesn't just go aw...

Do You Have This Fruits?- Kindness

Image
Welcome back to our "Do You Have These Fruits?" series! Today we're talking about: Kindness. Before you read what I got, think about what kindness is to you.  I know that most people describe it as an action. Something that is done in the moment of a need.  Giving money to someone in need.  Giving encouragement to others who may be sad.  Giving a hug for someone that may be down.  I agree with this definition as well, however, when studying and digging deeper into the Fruits of The Spirits, I pulled up a deeper meaning.  Kindness in Greek is translated to Chrēstotēs ( kray-stote). It is defined as not a virtue of word or countenance, but a  person's nature. It explains that any reaction to anything should be kind, gentle, encouragement. What I want to stick to more so in the definition is the ' person's nature'.  We stated that normally we define kindness as an act, but in the Greek translation, it is more of just an act that we can display h...
