Not Too Stubborn
One of my major problems and I would be fine to assume that I am not the only one who battles with this, is being my own harsh critic.
Have you ever found yourself even asking yourself about your attitude?
"Or, why do you have to respond that way?"
If not, then you, my friend are excelling in life and I wish you the best.
As for me and the others that can identify with this, we have an issue, yall!
But, don't worry, I have a solution.
One of my prayers is always for awareness.
Awareness of myself, my actions, and awareness of when God's in the room.
This will help us when it comes to not being too stubborn in our own ways.
We will be able to know when we have offended someone or God so that we can apologize or even prevent it from happening next time.
It will help us to know if our actions or words aren't lining up to the lifestyle we proclaimed to have so that we can correct ourselves.
We don't want to be too stubborn in our own feelings and ways.
It's not right to be that person that uses "That's just the way I am" to avoid changing vital parts of us that can promote growth.
The Bible states that we need to renew our minds in Christ and that we are also new creatures when we accepted Him.
It's impossible for a person to read the Word and apply it to their lives and still use that flimsy excuse.
We're supposed to be ever-changing.
As we apply what we read, we're supposed to change and evolve. Become better. Shed layers that are not lining up with God's will.
If this is not happening then we are holding on irresponsibly to our old selves stubbornly.
There's no way, we should still dislike people when God's Word says to love one another. Nor should we still be mean, judgemental, envious, gossiping, an instigator, or even slander when God's Word is clear about how He feels about those things.
We should not still be complaining when we know God is capable to do beyond what we ask or think.
Or, having some for the stomach's sake, when Jesus already became the new wine.
We should not still be holding on to these things. We should not be this stubborn.
A person who has done wrong and humbly apologizes is completely different from someone who has done wrong and tries to persuade God that, "that's just who they are".
Don't let the enemy keep you distracted by that trick any longer.
My husband had gone to the chiropractor earlier this week and found out that 3 of the bones in the neck were out of place. After the doctor had set them back, he asked him, "How did they even become like that?"
The doctor responded, "That if you conditioned your body to a certain posture all the time, for example, the way you lay down to watch tv, the way you sleep or the way you sit, eventually your bones and muscles will reconstruct themselves to accommodate that posture."
So, in terms, for a person to undo bones out of place and keep them in place, is to have them set and then try different and better postures to keep them from reverting back to the wrong places.
That means sit better, lay better, watch tv better, stand better, etc.
It shows that as strong bones are that they can still be changed. That things can still be unlearned if we put our minds and effort into them.
That it is not too stubborn to be renewed constantly. That it is not too stubborn to become a new creature.
Don't let us become too stubborn.
Don't let us become stiff-necked and unable to be molded by the Potter's hand.
