Living Waters
John 7:38
Whoever believes in Me as Scriptures has said, rivers of living waters will flow from within them"
As you serve God, you will realize that He is constantly moving forward.
He is constantly progressing.
His movements do not go back and forth in what He does, but He strives ahead.
This is why in Luke 9:62, it states that whoever comes to God and then looks back is not fit for the kingdom.
When I was reading this verse, one of the words that stuck out to me was living water, more so, living.
Now with waters, you have streams, oceans, lakes, rivers, and so forth.
However, the actions of one of these bodies of water are what piques my interest.
For the scripture to use living waters, means that the water is not still and dormant, but it is moving, flowing, and doing so in a progressive motion.
It states that living waters will flow from within them.
Who is them?
Those that believe in God.
What is the water?
Jesus Christ is the river of water. His word said once you drink of Him you will never thirst again. (John 4:14)
Now, let's bring it all together.
Those that believe in Christ Jesus, will be filled with him (the Holy Spirit) and within them will flow progress and elevation.
The Holy Spirit which is the third part of the trinity does not work in regression but in progression. He works to advocate and bring us closer and more in tune with God's will.
It is impossible to be in Christ Jesus, have already drank of this water (receive the Holy Spirit) and be a still body of water.
It is impossible to be living water, and be reverting back to old ways.
In Christ, all things are new and everything old is passed away. ( 2 Corinthians 5:17)
When you believe in Christ, you are supposed to be moving like living waters. Spiritually and physically.
Have you ever seen water rushed back and forth in one long path?
A stream of water going two ways on one line?
The answer is no.
A river flowing of living waters will show the direction of water going only one way.
I encourage you today, to allow the will of God to direct you in the way you should stream.
Allow the Holy Spirit to flow within you so that you will not lay dormant, but move with purpose and authority.
That your faith in Jesus Christ will be your captain as you move forward in God.
Don't allow the enemy to cause you to wonder in confusion, but let the Holy Spirit be your guide.
We, as the body of Christ, should be seen as a body of water constantly pushing ahead, evolving, and reconstructing to become bigger and better in the Kingdom of God.
There shouldn't be any stillness, such as dormancy or laziness, but we must be actively moving.
Actively moving forward into what God has destined for us.
